A sportsman’s paradise with excellent fishing and hunting on Thunder Lake off Hwy. 437 Manistique, Michigan. Located in the midst of the beautiful Hiawatha National Forest with many nearby attractions and State Parks.

All cabins on lake front with boats provided. Fish cleaning house, picnic area, fire pit, barbecue, and horseshoe pit. One 2-1/2 bedroom large cabin with TV, fireplace, and wooden deck. Four 2 bedroom cabins. All kitchens equipped with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, toaster, coffee pot, etc. plus bed linens.

Canoe rental and delivery to nearby rivers and lakes also available.

Thunder Lake Store nearby for supplies, bait and licenses. Sorry no pets. Deposit required. Open May 15 through November 30.

 

Directions:
West from Manistique on Hwy. 2
North on M-149 at Thompson
Left (West) on Hwy. 442
Right (North) on Hwy. 437 "Thunder Lake Road" *There is a sign for "Whispering Pines"
Go 11 miles - Pass Thunder Lake Store
Turn Left at "Whispering Pines" sign and follow to the end of the road.
Cabins are brown with white trim.
From the East you can go through Cooks on the Old Hwy. 2 and then North on Hwy. 437.
Watch for the sign "Forest Hwy. 43, Thunder Lake Road, Cooks"
